CLEARLAKE >> Kenia Garcia’s 3-pointer in the final seconds of overtime lifted the Obsidian Middle School A girls basketball team to a down-to-the-wire 53-52 win over the Upper Lake Wildcats in the regular-season finale for both teams Monday night in Clearlake.
Mariah Robinson powered the Bears (3-5) with 22 points while Myiah Percoats had 10.
“Today was hard for both teams because we were only assigned one referee, so there were many calls missed despite the referee’s best effort,” Obsidian head coach Claire Alderson said. “Upper Lake played an amazing game, and I hope they are proud of themselves.”
Obsidian will compete in the league postseason tournament starting Thursday.
