MIDDLETOWN >> Middletown Middle School’s A girls basketball team won another close one, this time beating Upper Lake Middle School 32-31 on Wednesday night in Middletown.

“These girls just have a knack for winning close games,” Middletown head coach Wayne Harbison said.

Middletown improved to 4-0 in league play.

“Two of the league wins came in overtime and this one was tight all the way,” Harbison said of the win over Upper Lake.

“Rylee Gabbet played critical minutes, scoring six points and grabbing six rebounds,” Harbison said. “We don’t win tonight without Rylee’s strong performance.”

Stella Brand also came up big for the Broncos, according to Harbison as she finished with seven points, six rebounds and three steals.
