Lewis serves back-to-back aces to lift Middletown B squad to win

MIDDLETOWN >> Middletown Middle School and Terrace Middle School split their volleyball matches Wednesday evening in Middletown.

Terrace A beat Middletown A 25-15, 17-25, 15-12 while Middletown B defeated Terrace B 25-10, 27-25.

In the B match, Madison Lewis served back-to-back aces in the second set to break a 25-all tie and give the Broncos the match. Lewis had a big night all around with seven aces and two kills. Dallas Totorica (six kills, one ace) and Mia Martin (nine service points, four aces) were other Middletown leaders.

The two schools also played an exhibition match won by the Broncos 25-18, 25-11. Middletown’s Abby Tribby served eight aces.

Middletown was scheduled to host Obsidian Middle School on Monday, but the Bears have forfeited those matches. Next up for the Broncos is the league postseason tournament beginning Wednesday.
