“Although the result wasn’t what we wanted, the score doesn’t reflect how we played,” Mendocino head coach Kat Edmonds said. “We did some good things tonight and will continue to work on the things we need to improve on.”
Cali Schnabl (Kelseyville) led the Eagle (2-3 conference, 6-11 overall) with 17 digs while Jayden Paulich (Kelseyville) had a tea-best 22 assists to go along with six digs and five kills. Other Mendocino leaders were Makayla Mace with 10 kills and four digs, Cora Holley (Middletown) with eight kills and six digs, Emily Gersalia (Clear Lake) with 10 digs, Ava Diaz (Ukiah) with six digs and two assists, and Rylie King (Analy) with four kills.
Said assistant coach Marci Schaefers, “Solano had a solid defense and picked up a lot. The girls kept fighting and never gave in. Jayden distributed the ball well and our defense picked up a lot of tough shots.”
