Road loss to Yuba is team’s first in Bay Valley Conference action

MARYSVILLE >> Yuba College handed Mendocino College its first Bay Valley Conference loss Wednesday night, beating the Eagles 25-15, 25-22, 25-20 in women’s volleyball action at Marysville.

Both teams are now 2-1 in the BVC standings.

Makayla Mace (Middletown) led the Eagles with 10 kills, eight digs and three aces. Jayden Paulich (Kelseyville) added 21 assists, nine digs, two kills and one block while Cora Holley (Middletown) had eight kills.

Other Mendocino College leaders were Cali Schnabl (Kelseyville) with 10 digs and one ace, Rylie King (Analy) with nine digs and one kill, Brooke Benson (Lower Lake) with three kills and four blocks, Emily Gersalia (Clear Lake) with seven digs and Ava Diaz (Ukiah) with four digs and one kill.

Mendocino College opened its BVC schedule with back-to-back wins over Marin College and Los Medanos College. Yuba beat Los Medanos and lost to Solano in its first two conference matches.

Mendocino travels to Napa Valley (1-2) on Friday. Action begins at 6 p.m. The Eagles’ next home match is Oct. 17 against Solano.
