Team goes 4-0 during three-day soccer tournament in Lakeport

LAKEPORT >> The Clearlake Youth Soccer League’s South County Crushers won the under-14 boys championship Sunday at the Konocti Kup Tournament in Lakeport.
The Crushers, coached by Andres Hernandez and Eric Lopez, beat the K’ville Klash of the Konocti Youth Soccer League 6-1 in the finals Sunday after a 4-1 win over the De La Torre Elite in the semifinals.
A 6-0 victory over the KYSL Ball Busters provided the Crushers with their first tournament win Friday. On Saturday, they beat De La Torre Elite 2-1, the same team they would beat in Sunday’s semifinals.
“This group of players showed incredible teamwork, sportsmanship and heart throughout the weekend,” Hernandez said. “They’ve worked hard all season, and this championship is a reflection of their dedication.”
