Cardinals remain home next Saturday to play 3-0-1 Lower Lake squad

LAKEPORT >> Vincent Rave rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns while teammate Josh King ran for another score and also passed 22 yards as the Westshore pee wee youth football team shut out Willits 18-0 in Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League play Saturday in Lakeport.
Westshore is now 4-0. The Cardinals remain home next Saturday to play the undefeated Lower Lake Trojans (3-0-1) at 3:30 p.m. Willits fell to 2-2.
“The boys played a great game against a solid team this weekend,” Westshore head coach Vince Rave said.
On defense, Rave led the team with seven solo tackles and four assists. Elius Mendoza had three solo tackles and three assists while Mayson Williams registered five total tackles. Hayes Eagle forced a fumble that teammate Mateo Wagner recovered.
“I’m proud of this team and the way they show up and compete each week,” Rave said.
