Sign-ups under way for 32nd annual event at Adams Springs Golf Course

COBB >> The 32nd annual John Berry Lake County Junior Golf Championship takes place July 23 at Adams Springs Golf Club on Cobb Mountain.

Sponsored by Eddie and Linda Mullins, the Adams Springs Golf Club, the Adams Springs Women’s Golf Club and the Berry family, the tournament offers flights for boys and girls in the 10-11, 12-13, 14-15 and 16-17 divisions. Age is based on age the day of the event. The entry fee of $20 includes golf, lunch, tee prizes and awards.

Entry fee checks should be made payable to Lake County Junior Golf and mailed to Julie Berry, 1800 S. Main St., No. 48, Lakeport, CA, 95453, or you can call Liz Berry at (707) 245-5023 to make payment. Entry fees are due 4 p.m. on July 19. Entry applications are available at the Adams Springs Golf Club and Buckingham Golf and Country Club pro shops or by calling Liz Berry at (707) 245-5023.

Tee times range between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Most flights will play 18 holes while the 10-11 flight will play nine holes. Golfers will receive an email online July 20 notifying them of their tee times. Tee times also will be posted online.

Consistent with NorCal junior tournaments, the Lake County Junior Golf Championship does not allow caddies. Spectators must remain 30 feet away from golfers at all times. Spectator advice is prohibited and will result in penalties up to disqualification. Golfers can carry their own bag or use a pull cart. Motorized carts are prohibited.

Defending tournament champions are Bodhi Moore (overall boys champ), Nathan Sherman (boys 16-17), Deake Lyndall (boys 14-15), Max Stine (boys 12-13), and Lyle Valador (boys 10-11).
