Knights land six players on All-North Central League I boys volleyball team

Editor’s note: The All-North Central League I softball team will be featured Thursday and the All-North Central League I baseball team Friday.

LAKE COUNTY >> Kelseyville High School junior Andon Beall and senior Otoniel Rivas are the co-most valuable players on the All-North Central League I boys volleyball team as selected by the league’s coaches.

Beall and Rivas helped direct the Knights, who are only in their second year of existence, to their second league co-championship in a row.

Beall, a 6-foot-5 middle blocker, and Rivas, the team’s libero, were instrumental in the Knights posting a 9-1 record in league play and 16-11 overall mark this season.

First team

Other Kelseyville players named to the All-League first team were seniors Jayden Teabo (outside hitter) and setter Julian Armas. They join senior Jose Hernandez of league co-champion Roseland University Prep (9-1), senior Jaxson Gonzalez and junior Skylar Grayson of third-place Technology (6-4) and freshman Cassin Paladini of fourth-place Credo (3-7).

Second team

Outside/opposite hitter Jorge Bernal of Kelseyville, a senior, earned second-team honors along with freshmen Carlos Lopez and Nicholas Espinoza of fourth-place Anderson Valley (3-7), seniors Cristian Mojica and Hector Maruffo of Roseland University Prep, freshman Justin Barrett of Technology, and senior Mason Ryan of Credo.

Honorable mentions

Senior George Baqleh of Kelseyville, a middle/opposite hitter, and senior Christopher Castillo of Lower Lake received All-League honorable mentions. Other honorable mentions went to senior Felipe Rizo of Roseland University Prep, freshman Mason Gong of Technology, senior Ehndy Perez of Anderson Valley, and junior Takumi Belcher of Credo.
