Vikings improve to 14-2 as season nears conclusion

UKIAH >> Winning pitcher Sophia Gonzalez struck out eight and Amelie Davis went 3-for-3 with two RBIs as the Terrace School Vikings beat Pomolita 12-0 in four inning during middle school softball action Thursday in Ukiah.
Gonzalez also helped herself at the plate, going 2-for-3. Ava Gamble went 2-for-2 with a triple as the Viking improved to 14-2.
“As our season is coming to an end, these girls continue to set the tone with their hard plays and great baserunning,” Terrace coach Shady Cerezo aid. “We’ve put so much pressure on the defense that walks and singles more often than not turn into runs by forcing the other team to make hurried throws, which then turn into mistakes, and we capitalize on those.”
