Reyes pitches complete game, Taber, Becerrill each connect for three hits in road win

CLOVERDALE >> Lilliaunna Reyes pitched a complete game, striking out seven, and Allison Taber went 3-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run Friday afternoon as the Middletown High School junior varsity softball team beat the Cloverdale Eagles 15-5 in five innings at Cloverdale.
Khloe Becerrill also went 3-for-4 for the Mustangs (1-0 league, 2-0 overall) while Jacqui Nunez (2-for-4, RBI), Gaige Thomas (2-for-3) and Chloe Pulido (2-for-3) added two hits apiece. Reyes, Lequoia Garcia and Elizabeth Kidwell also had hits.
“We were extremely proud of the girls’ performance,” Middletown head coach Leonard Catanuela said. “The girls were ready, played hard, played like a team and were locked in.”
Middletown returns home Friday to play Lower Lake at 4 p.m.
