KELSEYVILLE >> The Kelseyville High School boys volleyball team completed a 2-1 road trip Thursday night with a 25-12, 25-23, 25-11 victory over Credo in North Central League I action at Rohnert Park.
“Third away game in Sonoma County in a row,” Kelseyville head coach Donelle McCallister said following a non-league win Wednesday against Rio Lindo in Healdsburg and a five-set league loss Tuesday against Roseland University Prep in Santa Rosa.
“The boys handled the travel all week fairly well but need a rest,” McCallister added.
Kelseyville improved to 7-1 in the NCL I standings and 13-10 overall with its win against Credo. If the Knights win their final two league matches against Lower Lake and Anderson Valley next week, they’ll share the NCL I championship with Roseland University Prep (9-1) for the second straight season.
The Knights are scheduled to wrap up their league and regular-season schedule with a home match against Lower Lake on Monday and another home match later in the week against Anderson Valley (day to be determined). If Kelseyville wins both to finish tied with Roseland University Prep, a playoff will be held to determine which team earns the league’s automatic berth in the upcoming North Coast Section playoffs.
Team leaders in the win over Credo were Jorge Bernal with eight kills, Andon Beall with seven kills, three blocks and three aces, Jayden Teabo with seven kills and three aces, Julian Armas with 18 assists, and Otoniel Rivas with 17 digs.
In Wednesday’s non-league win Rio Lindo, Kelseyville prevailed 25-14, 13-25, 25-12, 20-25, 15-10. Individual stats were not available.
