Middletown Middle School takes both ends of road doubleheader

WILLITS >> Middletown Middle School swept Baechtel Grove Middle School in doubleheader softball action Friday in Willits, winning the first game 17-0 behind Peyton Beehler’s no-hitter and taking the second game 15-4.
Beehler struck out 12 and walked four in the opener, which was called after four innings because of the lopsided nature of the game.
Claire Irwin went 3-for-3 with two RBIs while Hannah Clark went 3-for-3 with a RBI. Anaya Kilstrom doubled twice and knocked in two runs while Mia Martin had a double and two RBIs.
In game two, which was called after five innings, Lilliaunna Reyes pitched a complete game, striking out 11 and walking four. She also tripled home a run to help her own cause.
Ella DelZompo went 2-for-2 with a double while Martin (1-for-3) drive in two runs. Kilstrom (1-for-4) and Jaquelin Nunez (1-for-1) also drove in runs.
Middletown stole 13 bases while completing the doubleheader sweep.
The Broncos host Obsidian Middle School on Monday.
