Zoey Petrie finds the range on nine 3-pointers in 89-50 win over Shasta College

CHICO >> Former Upper Lake High School multi-sport star Zoey Petrie scored a career-high 29 points for Butte College, including nine 3-pointers, in an 89-50 Golden Valley Conference win over Shasta College on Saturday night at Butte College.

Petrie, a 2022 Upper Lake High graduate, went 9-for-17 from behind the 3-point arc. The sophomore guard is averaging 9.8 points a game for the Roadrunners, who improved to 3-0 in conference play and 12-8 overall. Butte has won six straight.

Petrie gray-shirted last season at Butte while recovering from a collarbone injury. She is one of four returning starters for the Roadrunners, who are coming off a Final Four appearance with a new coaching staff.

Butte goes for a seventh consecutive victory on the road Wednesday against College of the Siskiyous. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
