Middletown Middle School improves to 6-2 in league action

LUCERNE >> Despite a rough start, the Middletown Middle School A volleyball team beat Lucerne 28-26, 25-15 in league action Wednesday evening in Lucerne.
“We struggled to find our groove tonight in the first set, making unfocused errors, which almost led to us losing,” Middletown head coach Vanessa Davis said. “Fortunately, the Broncos decided today was not the day for that.”
Grace Williams led Middletown (6-2) with 10 kills and also had three digs.
“Grace showed up to play and I’m glad she did,” Davis said. “We could not have done it without her strong net outing.”
Jaquelin Nunez added five kills while Trinity Wood contributed six digs and two aces.
“Jaquelin Nunez came in fierce tonight,” Davis said. “Trinity Wood also hustled tonight, making good plays when needed.”
Trinity Galvan added 10 assists, two kills and two aces.
Lucerne stats were not reported.
