Broncos take down Obsidian Middle School in straight sets

MIDDLETOWN >> Lilliaunna Reyes served for 12 points, five of them aces and had 13 assists from her setter’s position Monday as Middletown defeated Obsidian 25-7, 25-5 in middle school volleyball action at Middletown.

“We were a powerhouse serving team tonight, making quick work of the Bears,” Middletown head coach Vanessa Davis said.

Ella Delzompo, an outside hitter, served up eight of the Broncos’ points in the first set, including four aces.

“She finished off the first set with her consistent and powerful serving,” Davis said.

Trinity Galvan scored another nine points at the service line for Middletown with five aces. An opposite hitter, Galvan also had two kills and one assist.

“Trinity had a solid serving game tonight,” Davis said.

Added Middletown’s coach, “We passed the ball well and made every free ball into an opportunity to attack. I am very proud of our growth as a team.”

Middletown is home Wednesday to play Terrace Middle School of Lakeport.
