King went 3-for-5 passing for 40 yards and a touchdown, that a 30-yard strike to Noah Freeman, who caught all three of King’s completions.
“Once again, we had a lot of guys contributing to our success,” Westshore head coach Vince Rave said. “Our offensive line has really been holding it down up front, creating running lanes for our backs and giving us opportunities to make plays through the air.”
Julian Rascon was in on a team-best eight tackles while also blocking a punt for Westshore. Mendoza and Mayson Williams had seven total tackles apiece while Rave had six and a fumble recovery. King, Obie Knight, Dominic Miller and Blake Sage added six total tackles each, and Cesar Gonzales had four total tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.
“Another outstanding defensive performance and another shutout,” Rave said. “Our boys played fast, physical and aggressive all game. We had guys flying to the football, making plays, forcing turnovers and shutting down their offense.”
Added Rave, “I’m super proud of the way these boys continue to complete and play together. This was a complete team effort.”
Kelseyville fell to 0-5.
Both teams return to action this coming Saturday when Westshore visits Fort Bragg while Kelseyville hosts Sonoma.
