Victorious teams improve to 3-0 in league action

UPPER LAKE >> Upper Lake Middle School prevailed in the A match while Middletown Middle School won the B match Wednesday during volleyball action in Upper Lake.
Upper Lake A defeated Middletown A 25-17, 25-7 behind five aces from Kylee Foley, four aces from Melissa Murphy, five kills from Cali Munoz, four kills from Aza Monlo, and three kills rom Adriana Cook.
“The girls collectively played great tonight,” Upper Lake head coach Darrin Brown said. “We passed and served with accuracy and our offense was in system for most of the night.”
Added Brown, “Every girl who served had at least one ace tonight.”
“We had a hard time communicating and the girls struggled to find their spark,” Middletown head coach Niki Emberson said.
Upper Lake improved to 3-0 in league play while Middletown fell to 1-2.
Upper Lake hosts Eagle Peak in a non-league match Thursday at 5 p.m. while Middletown visits Lucerne on Monday..
In the B match, Middletown won 25-17, 25-7. For the victorious Broncos, Madison Lewis had 13 aces among her 17 service points while Aleah Kilstrom added five aces and one kill. Lola Fults had three aces and one assist.
Middletown B is now 3-0 in league action.
