Middletown Middle School A, B teams post straight-set victories on the road

CLEARLAKE >> Middletown Middle School’s A and B volleyball teams opened the league portion of their schedules with straight-set wins over Obsidian Middle School on Wednesday evening in Clearlake.
Middletown A beat Obsidian A 25-15, 25-19 behind seven aces and one kill from Dallas Totorica, eight assists, four aces and two kills from Stella Brand, and three kills from Ariana Granados.
“The girls continue to play well together despite illness and ailments,” Middletown head coach Niki Emberson said. “But they are really building up their team chemistry.”
Middletown B defeated Obsidian 25-11, 25-21 on the strength of 13 aces by Madison Lewis, seven aces and one kill from Aleah Kilstrom, and three aces, one kill and one assist bysixth-grade setter Faith Meyers.
“We are still working on finding our voice and learning our systems, but I am proud of these young athletes,” Emberson said.
Middletown’s teams are home Monday to play Mountain Vista Middle School.
