RIO LINDA >> Logan Percaccio’s 45-yard touchdown pass to Jayvon Evans was all the offense the Clear Lake High School junior varsity football team needed to take its third straight shutout victory, a 6-0 non-league road win over Rio Linda on Friday evening.
Clear Lake (3-0) has outscored the competition 76-0 through its first three games.
The Cardinals had no shortage of contributors on defense, led by Paxton Villanueva with eight total tackles, Knox Hensler with seven and a half, and Landyn Collins with seven. Other leaders included Andre McCloud with four tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery. Kellen Hutchinson intercepted a pass late in the game to seal the victory.
Clear Lake returns to action next Friday in Upper Lake against the Cougars (2-0) at 5 p.m. Upper Lake’s defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown in two games although the team did give up a kickoff return in a season-opening victory over Lower Lake.
