Trojans field complete team for first time during match at Adams Springs

COBB >> Lower Lake High School girls golf fielded a complete team for the first time, but it was the Willits Wolverines who came away with another close win again Wednesday at Adams Springs Golf Course on Cobb Mountain.
Willits finished with a team score of 257 (combined total of the four lowest individual rounds) to Upper Lake’s 259 and Lower Lake’s 263 on the par-34 Adams Springs course (for nine holes).
Willits has won each of the first three matches played this season, the first year girls golf has been offered for area schools.
Honors for low individual round on Wednesday was a tie between Willits’ Emma Hulsey and Upper Lake’s Kyra Santos, both with 61. Close behind was Lower Lake’s Avery Garcia with 62.
Three golfers finished with 63, including Willits’ Sophia Vaccaro and Upper Lake’s Alyssa John.
All three golf teams are back in action next Wednesday at Buckingham Golf and Country Club at 11 a.m.
