KELSEYVILLE >> The Lower Lake Trojans had too much offense and too much defense for the Kelseyville Chiefs on Saturday, rolling to 33-0 victory in a junior varsity youth football game at Kelseyville.

It was the season opener for both teams.

Lower Lake (1-0) piled up the yards on the ground and through the error. Kameron Richardson rushed for more than 100 yards and three touchdowns while also finishing among the Trojans’ leading tacklers on defense. Quarterback Freddie Jeffries passed for 85 yards and ran for another 75, including a touchdown.  Like teammate Richardson, Jeffries also had a big day on defense with 10 tackles and an interception.

Other contributors on the offensive end were wide receiver D’Angelo Negrete, who had several catches, and running back Brian Patrick, who powered his way up the middle on several occasions.

The Trojans dominated up front on offense and defense.

Lower Lake hosts Middletown on Saturday while Kelseyville plays at Cloverdale.
