Mountain Vista finishes second, Terrace third at Middletown High School

MIDDLETOWN >> The Middletown Broncos won the Lake County Junior High Athletic League wrestling championship Wednesday at Middletown High School.
Joining the host Broncos at the postseason tournament were wrestlers from Mountain Vista, Terrace, Obsidian and Upper Lake. Mountain Vista came in second in the team standings while Terrace finished third.
“The energy in the gym yesterday was amazing and really kept the kids on their game,” Middletown head coach Dom Fanucchi said. “I am proud of all of my Broncos. They have really been putting in the work for months to prepare for this. I’ve got to say I was excited to hand out most improved wrestler awards to Diana Glasgow and Troy Johnston as well as my underdog awards to Madalynn “Maddawg” Thompson and Gunnar Tillman.”
Added Fanucchi, “It was a truly amazing season for the Broncos wrestling team. I am excited to see them next season. To my eighth-graders, I will see you all in the high school room.”
