CLEARLAKE >> The Dodgers of the Southshore Little League completed a 14-0 season with a 1-0 victory over the Deadpools in the 11-12 majors championship game Tuesday in Clearlake.
The game’s only run came on Adrian Daguro-Mendoza’s steal of home. Daguro-Mendoza’s play in the field at shortstop also helped lift his team to victory.
Ross Jones pitched a shutout while being backed by the strong defense of Daguro-Mendoza and catcher Freddie Jeffries. Outfielder Taylor Vasquez caught the final out as his teammates rushed out of the dugout to celebrate their big win.
Coaches Ross Jones, Quetzal Daguro-Mendoza and Chris Jeffries spent the entire season building a culture of teamwork, discipline and determination that helped guide the Dodgers to an undefeated season and Southshore title. Next up for the Dodgers is the Tournament of Champions.
