UPPER LAKE >> Upper Lake High School softball snapped a five-game North Central League I losing streak Monday afternoon with a 14-8 home win over the Fort Bragg Timberwolves.
The Cougars (3-6 league, 5-7 overall) scored eight times in the bottom of the second inning to erase a 4-3 deficit.
Winning pitcher Bella Stimman, who worked all seven innings, allowed nine hits, struck out two and walked five.
Jordyn Parker went 3-for-4 with a bases-loaded triple and a two-run triple, finished with five RBIs overall and scoring twice. Aubree Sperber went 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Stillman (1-for-4) tripled and drove in a run. Kylee Solorio went 1-for-5 with a double and RBI.
“We were all happy the rain held off so we could play, and both teams played a great game,” Upper Lake head coach Janice Klier said. “Jordyn Parker had a stellar game at third base and hit triples (in back-to-back at-bats).”
The Cougars travel to Lower Lake on Tuesday and to Middletown on Friday.
