“Xavier is just an insane athlete,” Middletown head coach Wyatt Hall said. “He has never run the 400 in a meet. We decided to have him run the event the morning of the meet. With his speed the coaching staff thought he would run a time in the low 50s, but as he came around the final turn I knew he had a chance. He pushed himself through the line, almost collapsing after crossing, and now he owns all individuals sprinting records at MHS.”
Added Hall, “Ren Ueno and Isael Haro ran well today. Ueno finished first in the 1,600 and set his best 800 time of the year. Haro came away with two second-place finishes in the 1,600 and 3,200. Haro has been improving his 2-mile (time) each week. That steady improvement is exactly what we want as we approach the end of the season.”
