Handful of Upper Lake, Clear Lake players among leaders after 18 holes of qualifying

WINDSOR >> Several Coastal Mountain Conference North golfers, including a handful from Upper Lake and Clear Lake, are in the running for at-large berths into the North Coast Section playoffs next month after the first 18 holes of the 36-hole qualifying tournament took place Wednesday at the par-72 Windsor Golf Club.
The final 18 holes of the qualifying tournament are next Wednesday in Ukiah, at which point the five golfers with the best 36-hole totals advance to the sectional playoffs along with the CMC North champion Fort Bragg team.
Low rounds at Windsor went to Cole Lane of Willits and Gage Faalelea of Upper Lake, both with 85, Jaden Nunez of Upper Lake with 86, Francis Rivera of Clear Lake with 89 and Auden Eldridge of Mendocino with 91. Also in the running are Tyler Collins of Upper Lake (92), Levi Ewing of Clear Lake (94), Justin Saez of Clear Lake (96), Rich Ferry of Willits (96), Grayson Dukeshire of Willits (98) and Blake Sneed of Upper Lake (98).
Fort Bragg wrapped up the CMC North team title last week. Upper Lake and Willits tied for second and Clear Lake came in fourth.
