M’town holds off Fort Bragg in tennis

Mustangs take both doubles matches during 3-2 road victory

FORT BRAGG >> Sweeping the doubles portion of Thursday’s match, the Middletown Mustangs held on to beat the Fort Bragg Timberwolves 3-2 in Coastal Mountain Conference North tennis action Thursday in Fort Bragg.

Middletown (4-1) won both doubles matches as well as second singles where Harrison Brown beat Gavin Wahl 6-2, 6-0.

In first doubles, Nalu Johnson and Luis Pamatz cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 while the second doubles team of Jasiah Pike and Anthony Lopez rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 victory.

Naman Bhatt defeated Middletown’s Will Hoskins 6-1, 6-0 in first singles. Fort Bragg also won by forfeit in third singles.

“Will had his hands full with Naman battling both wind and playing a tough player,” Middletown head coach Tony Hart said.

Middletown takes next week off for spring break before returning to action Tuesday, April 14 in Willits.
