ROHNERT PARK >> Middletown High School’s David Sisson fired the low individual round for the third week in a row, firing an 80 on Wednesday as the Middletown High School golf team posted its second straight Coastal Mountain Conference South victory, this time at the par-71 Foxtail South course in Rohnert Park.

Sisson carded three birdies during his round as Middletown finished with a team score of 369 to beat out Sonoma Academy (387), Technology (390) and St. Helena (incomplete).

Sonoma Academy’s John Berry had the next lowest round, an 87, while Middletown’s Grant McMillian (one birdie) and Sonoma Academy’s Lucas Vaio were a shot back at 88. Sam O’Halloran led Technology with an 89.

While there was a threat of rain Wednesday, the CMC South golfers played a precipitation-free round.

Middletown opened up its South lead, improving to 8-1. Sonoma Academy is second at 5-4.

The South golfers take next week and return to action Thursday, April 16 at Rooster Run in Petaluma.
