VALLEJO >> Winning pitcher AJ Myer pitched a four-hitter and also doubled three times as the Lower Lake High School varsity baseball team knocked off Vallejo 14-3 in a non-league game called after five innings Saturday afternoon in Vallejo.
Lower Lake (2-0) has 10-runned each of its first two opponents this season.
Myer struck out six, walked one and hit three to record the victory on the mound. At the plate, he went 3-for-3, all doubles, with two RBIs while Brody Shields went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a RBI. Ashton Hartmann went 2-for-4 with a double.
Lower Lake’s glovework also contributed to the win as second baseman Adrian Negrete made a diving stop to save a run, while Shields raced deep into the hole at shortstop to throw out a runner.
