Middletown shuts out Eagle Peak in first half of non-league game

REDWOOD VALLEY >> Sophia Azevedo’s double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds helped lift the Middletown Middle School A girls basketball team to a 24-16 win over Eagle Peak in non-league action Tuesday in Redwood Valley.
“Sophia Azevedo was the defensive anchor with 11 rebounds, two steals and six blocks while Elizabeth Ahlmann and Katera Gotz badgered Eagle Peak up and down the court, forcing multiple turnovers,” Middletown head coach Wayne Harbison said.
Middletown held Eagle Peak scoreless in the first half.
Remmi Harbison scored seven points for the Broncos. Rylee Gabert added two points and four rebounds while Stella Brand had three points and five rebounds.
Middletown resumes league play Monday in Kelseyville against Mountain Vista Middle School.
