Seven county wrestlers attend Northwest Bigfoot Battle in Spokane

SPOKANE, WASH. >> Seven Lake County wrestlers competing with the Spring Hills Wrestling Club turned in a strong showing Friday and Saturday at the USA Wrestling Northwest Bigfoot Battle in Spokane, Washington.

Jay T. Farrell won the 100-pound middle school division, a 21-man bracket, and also received the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award while earning his team 29 points.

Gabriel Navarro placed third in the same division as teammate Farrell, earning 21 team points.

Brodie McDaniel claimed third place in the middle school girls division (75-80 pounds), earning 11 team points.

Fourth place in the 10-and-under 63-pound division, a 31-man bracket, went to Maverick Paminto, who secured 18 team points

Cristian Navarro, competing in the same division as Paminto, came in sixth to earn 12.5 team points.

Also participating were Brayden Paminto, who did not place after wrestling three matches, and Brantley Paminto, who was pulled from the competition because of secondary concussion protocol.

Spring Hills finished with 157 points to place 14th out of 166 teams.
