Cloverdale beats Upper Lake 9-6 in North Central League I action

CLOVERDALE >> The Cloverdale Eagles gained their first North Central League I win at Upper Lake’s expense, beating the Cougars 9-6 in varsity football action Friday night in Cloverdale.

The Eagles (1-3 league, 2-4 overall) won despite throwing three interceptions. Carson Brown led the team with 80 rushing yards on 22 carries, including a touchdown.

Billy Stillman Jr. scored on a 1-yard run for Upper Lake, which fell to 0-5 in league play and 0-7 overall. Jubilee Faalelea had 30 yards rushing on eight carries.

No other details were reported.

Cloverdale remains home next Friday to play Clear Lake (3-1, 3-3) while Upper Lake returns home to play Lower Lake (0-4, 2-4). Former longtime Upper Lake football and basketball coach Craig Kinser will be introduced at halftime as the inaugural member of the school’s new Hall of Fame.
