Trojans return pair of punts for touchdowns in road victory against Willits

WILLITS >> Lower Lake’s special teams were exactly that, special, Saturday afternoon as the Trojans’ junior varsity youth football team parlayed a pair of punt returns for touchdowns into a 13-0 win over Willits during Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League action in Willits.

Kameron Richardson had a 45-yard return for one touchdown while teammate Quentynn Conner returned the other.

D’Angelo Negrete scored an extra point for the Trojans (2-1). 

LaDontea Sellers and Brian Patrick had 25-yard interception returns for Lower Lake, and Thomas Philpot forced a fumble that he recovered.

Lower Lake is home next Saturday to play Cloverdale (0-3). Pee wee action kicks off at 3:30 p.m., the JV game follows at 5:30 p.m., and the varsity game kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
