Trojans knock off St. Helena in North Central League I softball action

LOWER LAKE >> Marlene Jack finished a triple shy of the cycle while leading the Lower Lake Trojans to a 14-4 win over St. Helena in North Central League I junior varsity softball action Friday in Lower Lake.
Jack went 4-for-4 with two singles, a double and a home run. Jack’s inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the fourth was followed by a triple off the bat of Hailee McRae (2-for-4), who also doubled. Monae Rogers added two hits.
Winning pitcher Crystal Pepper struck out nine.
