Middletown junior varsity baseball team wins North Central League I game

MIDDLETOWN >> Middletown scored its runs in bunches Wednesday afternoon while beating the Cloverdale Eagles 9-5 in a North Central League I junior varsity baseball game at Middletown.
The host Mustangs scored four times in the bottom of the first inning and five more times in the fourth to make a winner out of starting pitcher Kolton Costlow, who worked 5 2/3 innings, striking out eight and walking two.
Cody de Jong went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and five RBIs for the Mustangs. Tyler Galamay added a triple among his two hits, and Colton Karp also had two hits.
Hunter Wedge hit a solo home run for Cloverdale while Jaxson Randolph went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Middletown is on the road Friday to play Kelseyville at 4 p.m.
