Eric Chavez scores pair of goal for A team in 3-2 victory

FORT BRAGG >> Terrace Middle School’s A and B teams both notched wins Wednesday during co-ed soccer action at Fort Bragg. The A team scratched out a 3-2 win while the B team prevailed 4-0.
Terrace held a 2-0 halftime lead in the A game. Fort Bragg rallied to tie it up at 2-2 before the Vikings scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the final three minutes.
“It made for an exciting second half,” Terrace head coach Becca Joyce said.
Eric Chavez scored twice for Terrace while Sellena Carbajal had the team’s other goal. Mano Garcia had an assist.
Terrace improved to 3-1-6 on the season.
The Terrace A team jumps right back into action Thursday against Pomolita Middle School in Ukiah.
In the B game, Terrace’s Santi Garcia, Anthony Tapia, Kadence Bienhauer and Eduardo Torres Gonzalez all scored goals.
“My B team doesn’t get many games, but they practice hard right along with the A team, and it showed today,” Joyce said. “They wanted that win and they earned it.”
The Terrace B team, now 2-0, doesn’t play again until May 14 at home against Eagle Peak.
