Softball team outscores Pomolita Middle School 7-0 over final three innings

MIDDLETOWN >> Outscoring Pomolita 7-0 over the final three innings, the Middletown Broncos rolled to a 15-5 victory in middle school softball action Wednesday in Middletown.

Middletown (2-0) scored five times in the first inning and three times in the second to go up 8-5.

First baseman Emma Davis went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to spark an 11-hit Middletown attack. Aniya Kilstrom (2-for-4) and Ella DelZompo (2-for-3, RBI) added doubles while Jaquelin Nunez (2-for-3) also drove in a run. Winning pitcher Lilliaunna Reyes (1-for-2, RBI), Mia Martin (1-for-2, RBI) and Brennah Genetiano (1-for-1) had Middetown’s other hits.

Reyes pitched a complete game, allowing three hits and four earned runs while striking out five and walking five.

The Broncos stole 20 bases.

Middletown hosts Baechtel Middle School of Willits on Monday.
