Editor’s note: The All-North Central League I girls team is featured today and the All-League boys team will appear Friday. Both teams are selected by the league’s coaches. The All-County boys and girls teams, which are selected by Lake County Sports, will appear later this month.

LAKE COUNTY >> Middletown High School senior Mia Hoogendoorn and Kelseyville High School senior Briana Davis are the co-most valuable players on the 2025 All-North Central League I girls basketball team as selected by the league’s coaches.

Middletown and Kelseyville tied for the league championship this season, both going 12-2, and Hoogendoorn and Davis had plenty to do with that. Hoogendoorn became the school’s all-time leading scorer during the 2024-25 campaign, reaching the 1,000-point and 1,500-point milestones along the way. Davis was a lockdown defender for the Knights, among team leaders in several categories including rebounds, steals and blocked shots. Unavailable to the Knights late in their league campaign and in the playoffs because of a knee injury, her absence was keenly felt.

Kelseyville had the most players honored with four followed by Middletown and Fort Bragg with three each and Cloverdale and St. Helena with two apiece. Fort Bragg and Cloverdale tied for third place in the final league standings at 9-5. Fort Bragg came in fifth at 6-8. Lower Lake (4-10), Clear Lake (3-11) and Upper Lake (1-13) each had one player honored.

First team

All-League first-team honors went to Kelseyville junior guard Ashlyn Wurm, St. Helena freshman Tessa Barrett, Cloverdale senior guard Amara Galvan, who scored her 1,000th career point late in the regular season and helped lead the Eagles to a runner-up finish in the North Coast Section Division 5 playoffs, and Fort Bragg seniors Italia Bowles and Lemara Hendricks, the catalyst behind the Timberwolves’ third-place finish in the Division 5 playoffs. Both Cloverdale and Fort Bragg advanced to the NorCal playoffs.

Second team

Honored on the All-League second team were Kelseyville senior guard Cali Schnabl, Middletown freshman post Izzi Hoogendoorn, Cloverdale senior Camryn Donahoo, Fort Bragg junior Natalya Lopez, and St. Helena sophomore Ella Lindquist.

Honorable mention

All five All-League honorable mentions were Lake County players. Kelseyville junior Matisyn Mateer, Middletown junior Harley Holley, Lower Lake senior Brooke Benson, Clear Lake senior Emily Gersalia, and Upper Lake junior Aimee Schaefers earned the nod.
