Middletown Middle School B team improves to 8-0 in league with 37-6 win

LUCERNE >> Rylee Gabbert’s double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds propelled the Middletown Middle School B girls basketball team to a 37-6 win over Lucerne on Wednesday in Lucerne.
Sophia Azevedo also came up big for the Broncos with eight points, six rebounds and six steals. Sophia Perez added six points and seven steals.
“The girls did a great job passing the ball around and looking for all of the options in our plays,” Middletown head coach Erika Galvan said. “They communicated well together. Defensively, we are a tough group, and we kept the other team away from the basket.”
Middletown improved to 8-0 in league play and 13-2 overall. The Broncos finish up their league schedule on the road next week at Mountain Vista in Kelseyville on Wednesday and at Upper Lake on Thursday, Jan. 23.
