MIDDLETOWN >> There’s red-hot, there’s white-hot and then there’s Bodhi Moore of the Middletown High School varsity boys basketball team.
One night after scoring 40 points in a home win against Lower Lake, the most points scored by a Lake County player in a single game this season, the senior came right back with a 35-point effort Wednesday in a 78-46 non-league win over South Fork at Middletown High School.
South Fork (9-5) played the Mustangs (11-4) tough in the first half, but a 26-8 third quarter by the host Mustangs proved to be the difference.
“We made some adjustments on the defensive side and the rest was history,” Middletown head coach Jake Diehl said.
Moore had three 3-pointers and four assists as the Mustangs won their fourth in the last five games.
Double-doubles by Anthony Bowerman (12 points, 16 rebounds) and Jon Hawkins (10 points, 15 rebounds) also figured prominently in the victory. Harrison Brown added nine points, including two 3-pointers, and Cody De Jong had seven points.
Middletown resumes its North Central League I schedule Friday in Fort Bragg. The Mustangs bring a 3-0 league record into the game while Fort Bragg is 1-2.
