ST. HELENA >> Aubree Sperber’s 14 points and a well-rounded effort by Grace Hobbs – 12 points, nine rebounds, seven steals and three assists – helped keep the Kelseyville Knights undefeated as they rolled past the St. Helena Saints 36-10 in North Central League I junior varsity girls basketball action Tuesday in St. Helena.

Riley Hanson added seven points and eight rebounds while Jordyn Wurm had 10 boards as the Knights improved to 3-0 in the league standings and 12-0 overall.

“We came out slow after two weeks off without a game, but the girls picked up their energy and continued to play as a team,” Kelseyville head coach Liz Schaefer said.

The Knights return home Friday to play Upper Lake at 5 p.m.

In other JV girls action Tuesday:

Lower Lake 29, Middletown 19

At Middletown, Leanna Ortega scored 11 points and Madelyn Garner and Lily Milano each had seven as the Lower Lake Trojans returned from a long layoff to beat the Middletown Mustangs in NCL I action.

“We came out super flat and off,” Lower Lake head coach Jessica Wiley said. “That can be expected with three weeks off. Our defense worked hard, which allowed our offense to solidify the lead once we got rolling.”

“Hopefully we come out with more momentum in the future to avoid close first halves,” Wiley said.

Middletown fell to 0-2 in league play. Middletown scoring was not reported.
