Hooten, Heywood go undefeated a NorCal Classic in Vacaville

LAKE COUNTY >> Wyatt Hooten and Tucker Heywood of the CORE Wrestling Club both went 3-0 to claim first-place medals Sunday during the NorCal Classic in Vacaville.
Other team members attended the Willits Novice Tournament in Willits where Waylon Estep and Sampson Wetmore won their weight classes.
Vacaville
Hooten pinned all three of his opponents to top the field in the grades two and three, 63-64-pound division. Heywood went 3-0 in the grades four and five, 84-88-pound weight division. He scored one win by pin, one by 1-0 decision and another by forfeit.
Willits
Besides first-place medals for Estep and Wetmore in Willits, CORE medalists included Georgia Emerson and Liliana Williams, both for second place, and Aniya Myer, Hannah Oweis and Kholton Downey, all for third place.
