WINDSOR >> After Mia Hoogendoorn scored five points in a handful of seconds to close out the first half, tying the score at 21-21, the Windsor Jaguars pulled away over the final two quarters to beat the Middletown Mustangs 53-31 in non-league varsity girls basketball action at Windsor.
The Mustangs (7-4) were without freshman guard Izzi Hoogendoorn (concussion) for a second game in a row.
“There is a possibility she’ll be back for this game,” Middletown head coach Roxi Holt said of a Jan. 2 home game the Mustangs recently added against Concord.
Hoogendoorn finished with 15 points and Harley Holley added eight against the Jaguars (4-4).
It’s the first time this season the Mustangs have dropped back-to-back games. They return to action Saturday against Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa.
Windsor won the junior varsity game 45-13.
