Team brings home four medals from Bulldawg Bash in Folsom

FOLSOM >> The CORE Wrestling Club sent six wrestlers to the Bulldawg Bash on Sunday in Folsom and four came away with medals, including firsts by Wyatt Hooten in the 10-and-under, 63-65-pound division, and Tucker Heywood in the 12-and-under, 80-85-pound division.

“We have work to do, but not bad for bringing two gold medals home from the Bulldawg Bash,” coach Danny Cuellar said.

Hooten went 3-0, winning two matches by technical fall and another by pin, scoring 19 team points.  Heywood went 4-0, winning two matches by pin, another by major decision and one by 3-0 decision.

Eric Holley finished second in the 8-and-under 45-46-pound division, going 2-1 with wins by fall and technical fall.

Alexsis Castellano placed third in the middle school Tournament of Champions qualifier at 205 pounds. His one win was by injury default.

Amari Carr and Ryder White Eagle both competed in the middle school TOC qualifier at 108 pounds and each had one win by pin.
