Six county players named to All-League first team in girls soccer

LAKE COUNTY >> A trio of Clear Lake High School players have been honored on the All-North Central League I girls soccer team as selected by the league’s coaches.
Five Cardinals in all received All-League honors after a 5-4-1 finish (tied for second) in the league standings.
League champion Willits (8-1-1) had the most All-League selections with six overall, including most valuable player Nora Martin, a senior. She was joined on the first team by teammates Alihna Diaz, a freshman, Madison Bouthillier, a senior, and Arion Martin, a junior.
Clear Lake’s three first-team players were senior Addyson Nunez, junior Giselle Carbajal and sophomore Haylie Garcia.
Middletown (5-4-1) was represented on the first team by freshman Allison Cherry.
For the fourth-place Upper Lake Cougars (4-4-2), first-team selections were seniors Kali Minnis and Ashlyn Rhodes.
Fort Bragg (1-6-3), last in the league standings, were represented by Maite Araiza and Denise Mendoza, both seniors.
Fifth-place Lower Lake (3-7) did not receive a first-team selection.
Honorable mentions
Among the All-League honorable mentions were Clear Lake’s McKayla Bondi, a senior, and sophomore Maggie Paarsch; Middletown’ss Serenity Suite Thomson, a senior, and junior Diana Montes; Upper Lake’s Portia Klier, a sophomore, and junior Autumn Clark; Lower Lake senior Ermelinda Trejo and junior Kaylee Case; Willits’ Madison Winter, a freshman, and junior Kate Winter; and Fort Bragg junior Isliana Morris.
