UPPER LAKE >> The Middletown Middle School volleyball A team topped the field Saturday during the Upper Lake Spikefest at Upper Lake High School.
The Broncos won all four of their matches, including a 26-28, 25-23, 15-12 victory over Mountain Vista Middle School of Kelseyville in the championship match.

“We fought hard even when we were down in the second set against Mountain Vista,” Middletown head coach Vanessa Davis said. “We were down by seven points and came back to win 25-23. The excitement was intense. We battled hard every point with Mountain Vista’s talented team.”
The serving of Grace Williams and Ella DelZompo helped rally the Broncos against Mountain Vista in the second set, according to Davis.
“Trinity Wood passed her best game yet,” Davis added. “She was digging everything and making incredible plays. The points that the Broncos were putting down were aggressive and had no fear of failure. I am proud that these girls aren’t worried about the score and are willing to take the risk. In the end their aggressive play is what won the match.”
