Cardinals improve to 2-1-1 in league standings with lopsided road victory

WILLITS >> Luke Percaccio rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns while quarterback Pops Horne and wide receiver LJ Hopkins hooked up on a pair of scoring passes Saturday as the Westshore Cardinals blasted the Willits Cougars 34-0 in the varsity division of the Mendo-Lake Empire Youth Football League in Willits.
Jake Hayes also ran for a score as the Cardinals improved to 2-1-1 in the league standings.
Horne connected with Hopkins on touchdowns of 37 and 11 yards. Hopkins also made two conversion kicks (worth two points in youth football).
Horne went 3-for-5 for 90 yards. Hayes had 34 receiving yards and 29 rushing yards.
On defense, Ajay Valerio led the Cardinals with five tackles while Layton Butcher and Jaxon Bosh each had four.
Westshore hosts Northshore on Saturday.
