Kelseyville opens with 20-12 win at McKinleyville
MCKINLEYVILLE >> Quarterback Kimo Brown passed for 111 yards and two touchdowns while Brayton Thomas scored twice, once on a run and again on a pass, as the Kelseyville High School junior varsity football team opened a new year with a 20-12 non-league win Friday night in McKinleyville.
Thomas had a big all-around night for Kelseyville (1-0) with 69 rushing yards, 28 receiving yards and a 35-yard kickoff return.
Nick Arredondo caught two passes for 40 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown, and Andrew Souza had a 37-yard reception.
Jayden Fabisch rounded out a good night for the offense with 42 rushing yards.
Aurelius Santos led the Knights’ defense with eight tackles while Case Pivniska and Deake Lyndall each had seven. Fabisch added five tackles, including a sack.
Kelseyville stays on the road next Friday to play Orland (1-0) at 5:30 p.m. The varsity game follows.
