Upper Lake takes second to Willits in season opener at Brooktrails

BROOKTRAILS >> Upper Lake High School’s first-year girls golf team finished second behind host Willits on Wednesday during a Coastal Mountain Conference North nine-hole match at the Brooktrails Golf Club.
Willits finished with 192 (the combined total of its four lowest scorers) while Upper Lake had 213. Lower Lake brought two golfers to the match but didn’t have enough for a complete team (minimum of four).
Brodey Lamprich of Willits fired the low individual round, a 40 on the par-28 nine-hole course. Her teammate, Gracie Crook, carded a 47.
Bella Stillman led Upper Lake with a 50 while teammate Alyssa John had 51. Rylee Zimmerschied and Kyra Santos each had 56.
Lower Lake’s golfers were not identified.
Other Upper Lake golfers in the field were Magdely Garcia (57) and Portia Klier (60). Alieah Barragan of Willits finished with a 54.
The same three teams square off next Wednesday at Little River Golf Course at 11 a.m.
